How do I check the version number of my Internet browser?

In order to fully experience our Alaska Cruise Experts Web site, you will need a browser version of 5 or later. Check the browser version by first clicking on "Help" on the top menu bar. Next, follow these steps:

For Netscape: Select "About Netscape"

Cookies are small text files of information that are temporarily saved within your Web browser. The use of cookies is to temporarily store information submitted through the six steps within the Cruise Wizard, enabling it to customize a list of your cruise vacation options, all according to your preferences. To enable cookies on your browser, follow these steps:

For Internet Explorer: Click on "Tools" on the top menu bar and select "Internet Options...". Under the "Privacy" tab in the menu that appears, move the Privacy setting slider until it reaches "Medium". Click "OK".	For Netscape: Click on "Edit on the top menu bar and select "Preferences...". In the menu that appears, click on the arrow beside "Privacy & Security" from the left pane to drop down a list of options. Select "Cookies". Select "Enabled cookies based on privacy settings". Click "OK".
For Opera: Click on "File" on the top menu bar and select "Preferences...". In the menu that appears, select "Privacy" from the left pane. Select "Enable cookies". Click "OK".

What is 'JavaScript'? How do I know if my browser has it enabled?

JavaScript is a scripting language used to build interactive Web sites, meaning that it allows the contents of a Web page to change according the actions of its visitors. An example would be drop down menus, where when a visitor puts the mouse pointer over the menu, it "drops" down new menu options. To enable JavaScript on your browser, follow these steps:

For Internet Explorer: Click on "Tools" on the top menu bar and select "Internet Options...". Under "Internet" of the "Security" tab in the menu that appears, move the Security level slider until it reaches "Medium". Click "OK".	For Netscape: Click on "Edit on the top menu bar and select "Preferences...". In the menu that appears, click on the arrow beside "Advanced" from the left pane to drop down a list of options. Select "Scripts & Plugins". Under "Enable JavaScript for", select "Navigator" and ensure that all the check boxes below are selected. Click "OK".
For Opera: Click on "File" on the top menu bar and select "Preferences...". In the menu that appears, select "Multimedia" from the left pane. Select "Enable JavaScript". Click "OK".
