Alaska's most famous park and home to Mt. McKinley, the park covers
more than 6 million acres. The low growing vegetation makes Denali
National Park one of North America's best places to view wildlife.
Mount
McKinley
When measured from base to top, Mount McKinley is the world's tallest
mountain. Stunningly high above the glacier-covered peaks of the
Alaska Range, the mountain is commonly known by its original Native
name, "Denali", which literally means the "Great
One" or the "High One." These majestic peaks of the
Mt. McKinley range have been immortalized in some of photographer
Ansel Adams' work.
