Route Information
Essentially the reverse of its Northbound counterpart, this route consists of a one-way southbound itinerary, embarking in Anchorage, Seward or Whittier and concluding in Vancouver. You'll sail the scenic Inside Passage and explore highlights that may include Hubbard Glacier, College Fjord, Glacier Bay or Tracy Arm. This route usually includes visits to the Alaskan ports of Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Haines or Juneau.
Cruise Portion
Seward, Alaska
The historic fishing village of Seward is encircled by the Kenai Wildlife Refuge, Alaska Maritime National Refuge, Chugach National Forest, and Kenai Fjords National Park. Seabirds, otters, whales and other wildlife thrive in nearby Resurrection Bay. Seward is named after William Seward, who negotiated the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867 for just under two cents an acre.

College Fjord, Alaska
College Fjord is truly one of the most visited fjords on Alaskan cruise itineraries. A total of sixteen glaciers line the 20-mile long fjord, all named after renowned colleges on the east coast of the United States. Once you have cruised through the fjord, you can honestly tell people that you went to Harvard, Yale or Wellsley. Perhaps slightly overshadowed by more spectacular glaciers, College Fjord is as scenic as fjords come and won't disappoint avid glacier fans.

Glacier Bay, Alaska
Preserved as a National Monument, Glacier Bay exists as an extraordinary collection of glaciers in a contained region. Only two ships per day are permitted to enter the bay during the summer months, which is when whales come here to feed. Hundreds of years ago, the ice in Glacier Bay fell as snow on the icefields in the mountains above.

Compressed by its own tremendous weight, the ice slowly flows through valleys to the sea, where in some cases, it breaks off in great chunks, called "calves", to float free as icebergs and "bergy bits".

Haines, Alaska
Drawn to the salmon-rich waters, the world's largest concentration of magnificent Bald Eagles can be found in Haines. Alaska's heritage comes alive in the handcrafted artistry of the Tlingit Indians and the performances of Native dancers in their brightly painted tribal masks. A tour of Fort Seward offers insights into the military history of the area.

Juneau, Alaska
Accessible only by air or sea, Alaska's capital is surprisingly urban and cultured for such a remote destination. When you arrive by sea, you will be greeted dockside by numerous flags and an abundance of summer flowers. For further insight into the Inuit culture and crafts, visit the museum. Take the short drive to Mendenhall Glacier, the only glacier inside city limits! Take a helicopter ride for an amazing aerial view of Juneau and area, or go fishing for silver salmon. Then, just kick back and relax with a cool one at the famous and colorful Red Dog Saloon.

Ketchikan, Alaska
Ketchikan is the salmon capital of the world. The canneries are busy and the stream below Creek Street's rustic boardwalk bustles with life. Visit the ancient grove of Totem Bight, the largest collection of authentic totem poles anywhere. Make a flight to nearby Misty Fjords--a breathtaking vista of Alaska's unspoiled wilderness and America's newest national monument; or try a little salmon fishing.

Inside Passage
Stretching from the Canadian border in the south, to the start of the Gulf of Alaska in the north, the Inside Passage runs through the area known as Southeast Alaska, just below Glacier Bay National Park. In the spring, the passage is blanketed with wildflowers and the whales are migrating. Come fall, the landscape is ablaze with fall foliage and the bald eagles are gathering. No matter what time of the season you choose to cruise, one can expect to see spectacular scenery, bountiful wildlife, picturesque Native cultures, amazing history and exceptional hospitality.

Vancouver, British Columbia
In Vancouver, you never lose sight of the spectacular mountains or the glimmering sea. It is a prosperous city, with flowers adorning the streets and the lush greenery of Stanley Park, the third-largest urban park in the world, beckoning to travellers and locals alike. Museums offer fine collections of dramatic Northwest Native arts. Vancouver's Chinatown is the second largest in the world. Gastown, the waterfront district, recalls the city's colorful past as a premier port since the days of the Clipper ships.

Come see the natural beauties of Vancouver, which captured the prestigous title of the 2010 Winter Olympics' Host City.
