Princess offers one of the newest fleets sailing in Alaska. Each
ship offers a variety of dining options, superior entertainment,
quality service and Anytime Dining. Princess has removed the regimentation
of the traditional cruise and instead allows you to "Do What You
Want, When You Want" on their impressive fleet of six mega-ships
for Alaska 2011. These are 'space' ships, with the amenities
and features of a grand mega-ship, but with a small ship feel thanks
to intimate public areas and multiple bars, dining venues, and show
lounges. In addition, Princess offers more affordable balcony staterooms
and more cruisetour packages than any other cruise line.
The Golden Gate welcomes the Sea Princess in 2011. She'll sail
an expanded season of thirteen 10-day voyages roundtrip out of San
Francisco with visits to combinations of Juneau, Skagway (or Haines),
Ketchikan, Sitka, Victoria, BC; as well as daylight cruising in
Tracy Arm on every departure.
If you only have one week to vacation there is no better way to
see Alaska than on the 'Voyage of the Glaciers', northbound
or south. For 2011 Princess returns with cruise itineraries that
give you Alaska's top-ten cruise attractions including the Inside
Passage, Glacier Bay National Park and Prince William Sound. Three
beautiful ships will be sailing this exciting itinerary: Coral,
Island, and Diamond Princess.
However, to really see Alaska you need to experience a "cruisetour".
This is a vacation that combines a 7-day cruise with a four to nine
day land package. For 2011 Princess offers a wide array of unique
cruisetours through Alaska, the Yukon, and even the Rocky Mountains.
In the Heart of Alaska you will spend your nights at one or more
custom-built wilderness lodges, perfectly located so you can take
full advantage of the scenery and local activities. Many cruisetours
include travel on Princess' own Midnight Sun Express ULTRADOME
luxury rail cars, which feature open-air viewing platforms and their
own private dining salon. The direct-to-the-wilderness rail option
which bypasses Anchorage for the wilderness of Denali beyond has
been a huge success with passengers. Leave your ship in Whittier
and arrive in Denali National park the same afternoon. Fishing enthusiasts
will enjoy the secluded Kenai Princess Lodge or Copper River Lodge.
