With so many cruise lines to choose from when it comes to an Alaska cruise, how do you know which one will be right for you? You’re absolutely right in questioning which line you would enjoy most. Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity is a premium cruise lines with ships Century, Millennium and Solstice sailing the Alaskan waters. Aboard all these ships is a chic modern décor with the public spaces reminiscent of a hip New York City restaurant or hotel.

Who would enjoy Celebrity? Although Celebrity appeals to the mass, young couples especially would enjoy the hip onboard ambiance.

Disney Cruise Line

Disney brings the magical experience to Alaska onboard the Wonder. The large contemporary ship caters to families with young children with Disney characters onboard and free kids activities. Fountain soda is also included in the fare.

But it’s not just for kids. Adults with or without children alike enjoy cruising Disney. In fact, a good proportion of Disney passengers are couples on their honeymoon.

Holland America Line

Holland America‘s mid-sized ships offer all the amenities of the larger ships such as nightly shows and kids programs, but in a more intimate environment. Hop onboard any of their seven ships sailing in Alaska and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time with the Old World decor, yet you’ll have the comforts of modern luxury.

Who would enjoy Holland America? Someone who is seeking a quieter environment onboard, yet still want the options to participate in endless onboard activities.

Norwegian Cruise Line

The Norwegian Jewel, Pearl and Sun sailing in Alaska are large contemporary ships. Norwegian pioneered the Freestyle concept where there is no dress code or set dining time so passengers have the freedom and flexibility to do what and when they want onboard.

Who would enjoy Norwegian? A Norwegian cruise is great for those who want flexibility and don’t care to dress up for dinner as there is no formal night. Families with children would also enjoy their youth program.

Oceania Cruises

Oceania is a premium plus line with the mid-sized Regatta sailing Alaska. Oceania offers fine cuisine at sea and luxurious accommodations. The Regatta has a guest capacity of only 684 guests and has a country club feel onboard.

Who would enjoy Oceania? Those seeking a luxurious atmosphere without paying the price of it. Not many families with children sail onboard Oceania given the limited kids program.

Princess Cruises

Princess has been the leading cruise line in Alaska for 10 of the last 11 years, having been voted by Travel Weekly Readers. The line is known for its large premium ships with its small ship feel.

Who would enjoy Princess? Almost everyone. The cruise line appeals to a wide audience and that’s what makes it successful. Their ships don’t wow, but they don’t disappoint either.

Regent Seven Seas

Regent is a 6-star cruise line and has one ship sailing in Alaska, Seven Seas Navigator. At only 490 guests, she offers one of the highest space and service ratios in the industry.

Who would enjoy Regent? Anyone seeking an all inclusive luxurious experience with a sense of adventure as shore excursions are included. Gratuities, wines and spirits are built into the cruise fare as well.

Royal Caribbean International

Royal Caribbean has the Radiance of the Seas and the Rhapsody of the Seas in Alaska this season. With lots of WOW factors such as rock climbing walls on both ships and the R Bar on the Rhapsody, there’s always something exciting going on.

Who would enjoy Royal Caribbean? Families and activity oriented cruisers.

Silversea

Silversea‘s small ultra-luxurious Silver Shadow accommodates up to 382 guests. Butler service in all staterooms, gratuities, in-suite bar and wines and spirits throughout the ship are all included in the cruise fare.

Who would enjoy Silversea? Those who want an all inclusive luxurious experience and appreciate the service of a butler.
