Dance Your Way to Fitness on a Cruise!

“Ditch the workout and join the party!”

Norwegian Cruise Line announced today coming this spring, guests onboard their Norwegian ships can start dancing themselves to fitness by participating in complimentary Zumba classes. This follows less than a month after Celebrity said they’re offering the widely popular workout fleetwide, two classes a day, which started January 16. They originally only offered classes on transatlantic crossings last year.

First to the party, though, was Princess Cruises. They introduced it to their program in December 2010. By the end of 2011, classes were offered fleetwide.
Now, if you don’t know what Zumba is, here’s the official definition from their site:

Zumba Fitness® is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a “fitness-party” that is downright addictive.

Since its inception in 2001, the Zumba program has grown to become the world’s largest – and most successful – dance-fitness program with more than 14 million people of all shapes, sizes and ages taking weekly Zumba classes in over 140,000 locations across more than 150 countries.

Better yet, here’s what a Zumba session looks like on a Celebrity cruise.

People of all ages, shapes and sizes can participate and they do, as you can see! Looks like everyone is having a blast and burning lots of calories at the same time!
