Cruise Expert Lindsay Harkness receives many emails and letters from her clients thanking her for arranging their unforgettable Alaska cruise vacation. We wanted to share this particular letter below from a pair of her clients who visited Alaska for their anniversary. If you’re wondering if Princess is right for you, you should read this letter. It illustrates in detail what they didn’t expect on their travels with Princess Cruises.
Dear Lindsay,
We would like to say “Thank you” for everything you have done for us to make our 25 Anniversary Alaska Cruise Tour unforgettable…
We had a wonderful flight from Toronto to Chicago with Air Canada #501. After a wrong turn in the airport to terminal 3 we just made it on time for our flight with Alaska Air #139 to Anchorage. The staff was great and the flight was just beautiful, with an awesome sneak preview of the glaciers from the sky!
We arrived half an hour earlier than expected at the airport in Anchorage. When arriving downstairs ~ to our surprise ~ our luggage was already rolling out! A friendly Princess Representative was there to greet us to Alaska with a welcome package from Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge with instructions on how to tag our luggage for the bus. We had a wonderful time there. The staff was incredible. We were of the 30% of tourists to see Denali Mountain. We used our leisure day to hike all the trails in McKinley. We just couldn’t get enough of it…
With our luggage all tagged and picked up again we boarded the 10:00 am bus to Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. Arriving there, we were again greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable Princess staff with our welcome package, room keys and times of our National History Tour. Another awesome experience Lindsay! It just seemed ~ to us anyway ~ that we were treated with the best. We were the last ones to go out with the tour that day at 3:30 pm. But we are sure that we had the best tour guide! What an awesome tour…
After a restful sleep at Denali we once again boarded a Princess bus for a 10 minute ride to the train depot. Another great bus driver, with a great sense of humor! While boarding the train we were surprised to find ourselves in the first car. What a view and what an awesome narrator we had again! Greg seemed very knowledgeable about Alaska and its history. This 10 hour train ride was just incredible… and there was our ship after the 5 minute dark tunnel ride. By the time we arrived at the ship the weather was turning cold and wet but once again the Princess staff was so accommodating to its guests, with awnings to walk under and umbrellas to protect us from the wind and the rain. (It’s incredible how they board the train to do all your paper work and at the ship all we had to do was go through security!)
We had a wonderful week on the ship. With beautiful weather on Sunday, we saw the massive Hubbard Glacier. Cruising Glacier Bay on Monday was a cloudy day. The three days in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan were wet with showers and a little sunshine. We really enjoyed these little towns and brought home lots of souvenirs for our kids! Friday our last day at sea was a little bit rocky to say the least! But we had an awesome captain… the best! The staff ~ once again ~ was just incredible! Balloons and a card were hanging on our cabin door for our Anniversary and a special cake was served to us in the dining room for dessert! Another thing we really enjoyed about this cruise was meeting lots of people and recognizing their faces from earlier encounters.
Making new friends and having meals together made it a most memorable event. It was even neat how we sometimes were dining with guests that we either met in McKinley, Denali or on the train! (And that with so many guests on the ship!) To our surprise we even met four ladies on the ship from back home! WOW!
The arrival early in the morning in Vancouver, BC was another great experience! It was hard to say our goodbyes to the excellent staff on the Coral Princess. The service we received with disembarking the ship, boarding the bus to the airport and the arrival at the airport was amazing!
Once again Lindsay,
Thanks! Princess is one amazing company to travel with…
