Best Times to Cruise to Alaska

When on an Alaskan cruise, expect wildlife, beautiful scenery, glaciers, and towering fjords. There’s really no bad time to go during the Alaska sailing season – any time is a good time. However, if there’s something in particular you’d like to see or do, there are better times to go.

What are you looking for?

Abundant wildlife: May and September.

Icebergs: May

King salmon: June and July

Midnight Sun: June, early July

Northern Lights: Late August and September

Shopping: Late August and September

I would absolutely love to be in Alaska in June or early July for the midnight sun. Imagine yourself out on your private balcony, sailing past fjords at 9 in the evening and the sun is still out! Oh, it just so happens that one of the dates offered next year for our Best of Alaska cruisetour is June 23. Perfect!
